History

1707	Gildersome Baptist Church was one of the first Baptist churches established in Yorkshire
1866	The present church building was completed with the addition of a schoolroom and adjoining rooms in 1870.
2000	The schoolroom and adjoining rooms together with land adjacent and behind rooms was sold to a Housing Association to build flats for the over 55's. This project was finished in 2002 and all flats are occupied.
2003	The monies from the sale of the suite of buildings together with funds raised by our congregation and several grants have allowed us to complete a project to modernise the church building internally while keeping the exterior features.
2004	The Church buildings are being used for regular worship and also by the local college for vocational study courses.
